Consignment Policy

Consignment Policy

1  INTRODUCTION
This is the Consignment Policy for www.zazz.co.za. This website is owned and operated by Margerett Macfarlane, and trades as ZAZZ. Full details and contact information are provided in our “Terms of Use” Policy.

2  ZAZZ CONSIGNMENT SERVICE
We take in the items you wish to turn into cash, and market and promote them on our website, on a commission basis. Your wardrobe finds a new home and you earn a share of the sale proceeds.

3  WHAT WE CONSIGN
Women’s Clothing, Women's Accessories, Handbags, Shoes, Girls Clothing, Anything Vintage. Items must be in good (moderate wear), very good (light wear), excellent (new without tags/barely used) or pristine (new with tags) condition.

ICONIC BRANDS: Iconic brands must be authentic. We do not accept fake or counterfeit merchandise. We inspect all goods for appropriate markings. Our authentication process is in-house and independent. We may request proof of authentication by means of purchase invoices or other means. Any item we believe to be not authentic will be returned.

4  HOW WE CONSIGN
Choose the pieces you love most — designer, statement, or timeless classics — and send a WhatsApp pic of them our way (clear photos from all angles, a min of 2 pictures per item). Items must be in excellent condition and meet our quality standards. If we approve the style, we ask you to either drop off your clothes in our Hout Bay home office, or courier them to us at your own expense. Should you wish to donate the items to us we will pay for the courier collection costs.

5  AFTER RECEIPT OF YOUR ITEMS
We evaluate, authenticate and inventorise all your items. You will need to approve your inventory before we proceed to photograph and market your items online.

6  PRICING
We price the items based on market-related values and trends, and take into account the brand, item type, age, condition and market demand. We strive to receive the highest possible price within a reasonable amount of time.

7  CONSIGNORS SHARE RATE
The consignor's share rate is a 40% commission. This covers our services, including receipt, quality control check, loading onto our inventory system, storing the clothes, photographing, marketing, selling, packaging, delivering and finally, paying your commission. At month end we EFT your cash to you. It's simple, transparent and rewarding.

8  HOW LONG DO WE KEEP IT FOR
Once loaded onto our website, we market the items for 4 (four) weeks. If it does not sell within that period, we reduce the price by 35% for a further 4 (four) weeks. If at the end of that period it has still not sold, we offer you the option of having the clothes returned at your cost or donating them to a charity. If you choose the latter option, we will donate the clothes to a charity of our choice.
